Madrasatul Usama Bin Affan Littahfizul Qur’an Waddirasatul Islamiyya, located in Dawakin Kudu, recently held its first graduation ceremony, celebrating 46 students who have memorized the entire Qur’an. The principal of the school, Mal. Isa Garba Isa, shared with newsmen that the school, which started in 2018 with just seven students and three teachers, now has over 1,000 male and female students.
Mal. Isa highlighted the school’s remarkable growth and called on government and stakeholders, particularly politicians, to support the school by providing additional classrooms and necessary educational materials to enhance Islamic education. He also advised the graduating students to serve as good ambassadors of the school and remain true to the teachings of the Qur’an.
Dr. Gwani Muhammad Tahir, an Islamic cleric and lecturer at Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, addressed the graduates, underscoring the significance of memorizing the Qur’an, especially in challenging times. He urged parents to continue enrolling their children in Islamic schools, hoping this will foster future leaders who are well-versed in both Islamic and Western education.
The Chairman of Dawakin Kudu Local Government, Hon. Sani Ahmad Mai Rago, represented by Councilor Hon. Abdumumini Salihu Yanbarau, and Education Secretary Musa Sani Yankatsari, expressed their joy at the achievements of the students.
