Maintain your support, continue work for APC – Kogi Assembly Speaker charges Lokoja Councilors

24th July, 2023

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has enjoined councilors in Lokoja Local Government Area to maintain and continue to support the APC at all times.

He stated this when he received the councilors on a congratulatory visit in Lokoja.

The Speaker noted that as a platform that has availed them the opportunity to occupy their current offices, there is the need for them to bring value to it by ensuring they maintain their leadership positions in their wards and canvass votes for the party against the gubernatorial election in November.

He assured them that his office would remain open for consultation with them on matters that affect the Local Government, stressing that they should continue to maintain synergy for a unified aspiration for the council.

While further advising them to close ranks with the executive arm of the council at all levels, the speaker highlighted the need for closer working relationship for the progress of the Lokoja Local Government and Kogi State in general.

Earlier in their addresses, the councillors took turns to applaud the emergence of the speaker, describing him as a leader within and outside Lokoja Local Government even before he ventured into politics, and expressed assurances that he would make a difference in the state legislature.

They lauded him for his continued efforts in making case for their welfare, noting that his guidance and advise have continued to come handy in their legislative business at the council level.
