After three weeks of planning, Christians and non Christians gathered on Sunday at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre for the Kogi State Christmas Carol and Festival of Praise amidst dancing and singing.

The Carol Service with the theme: “Jesus Reigns,” attracted Christian Leaders and top Government Functionaries.

In her remarks, Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade described the programme as historic, happening for the first time since the creation of the State over thirty years ago.

Mrs. Ayoade stated that the Service was organised to gather people together appreciate the faithfulness of God and for the gift of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to the State.

While describing Christmas as a unique period in Christendom, the SGS thanked the Governor for approving the Programme, urging the people to sustain their prayers for him.

The State Head of Civil Service, Mr. Elijah Evinemi applauded the large turnout of people for the programme, describing Christmas as a time to reflect and celebrate the birth of Christ.

While the Guest Preacher, Evangelist Isaac Omolehin told the congregation to imbibe the lessons of Christmas, the Regional Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Region twenty four, Pastor Rotimi Nathaniel on his part expressed optimism of better days ahead.
