The Mike Bertola Ibitomihi Foundation in partnership with the Kabba Students Union will be hosting the first ever Secondary Schools Olympiad Competition 1.0. in Kabba, Kogi State, North central Nigeria starting from May 8th, 2025.
According to a press statement made available to democracynewsline, the foundation, as parts of its focus to promote academic excellence decided to partner with the Kabba Students Union to stage an Olympiad competition amongst secondary schools in the Metropolis.
The statement further noted that the event will take place in the heart of Kabba Metropolis, pointed out that students from various secondary schools across the region will come together to showcase their skills and knowledge in a series of challenging academic competitions.
“The Olympaid Examination Competition will unfold three(3) stages of written exam to access each students abilities across all subjects.

And also from proficient elites which the community have looked up to and find trust in their dealings, which pushes and got to their peak through dedication, through academics, so in a long time, the community haven’t foster any academic activities through quizzes and debates which recognize academic prowess between private and public secondary schools in Kabba.
In a bid to foster academic excellence and empower the next generation of academics, the Kabba student union (KSU) is about to host its first-ever Secondary Olympiad Competition in partnership with the Mike Bertola Ibitomihi (MBI) Foundation.
The event, which is going to place in the heart of Kabba, Kogi state, saw students from various secondary schools across the region come together to showcase their skills and knowledge in a series of challenging academic competitions.
This competition will not only benefit the participants by giving them the chance to improve their academic performance, but it will also have a positive impact on their schools and communities.

That’s why they are dedicated to promoting academic excellence through initiatives like the Secondary Olympiad competition. Importance of the Olympaid Competition:
1. Developing Critical Thinking Skills: Participating in an academic competition like
this allows students to develop and sharpen their critical thinking skills, which will

Stages in the Competition:
1.Three Stages of Testing: the competition will unfold three (3) rounds of written
exams. This allows for a fair assessments of each students abilities across all subjects
2. Key subjects: Participant will be tested on their knowledge on English,
Mathematics, Sciences and General Knowledge this ensure a well rounded academic
challenge
3. Top 3 Winner 🏆: After intense three stages, the top three 3 students with the
highest score will be crowned the champions with well deserved recognition and prizes.
