Minister Audu Condoles Family of Former Kogi Governor Ibrahim Idris

The Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has expressed his condolences to the family of former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, who passed away at the age of 77 in London on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
Prince Audu described the death of the former governor as a sad loss to Kogi State and Nigeria, noting his years of service and contributions to the development of the state.
In a condolence message issued on Monday, September 21, 2026, the Minister extended his heartfelt sympathies to the Idris family, the people of Kogi State and all those mourning the former governor.

He said, “On behalf of my family, I extend my deepest condolences to the family of His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, former Governor of Kogi State, on his passing.
“As a former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris contributed to the development of the state and served the people.
“At this moment of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the people of Kogi State. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannah Firdaus and give his family the strength to bear his loss.”
The Minister prayed for the repose of the soul of the former governor and for Allah to grant his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
