Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Strengthens Steel–Power Collaboration, Visits NEMSA, EMVC in Abuja
The Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, paid a visit to the Corporate Headquarters of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) in Abuja to strengthen collaboration between the steel and power sectors in support of Nigeria’s industrialisation agenda.
During the visit, Minister Audu highlighted the strategic role of the steel sector in national development, noting that steel is critical to the growth of power infrastructure and other key industries. He also commended NEMSA for its commitment to electrical safety, standards enforcement, and quality assurance in the electricity sector.
In his remarks, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEMSA and Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation, Olusegun M. Adesayo, described the visit as a demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to inter-agency collaboration, noting that stronger partnerships between key sectors will drive industrial growth, infrastructure development, and economic prosperity.
Also present at the meeting was Engr. Barr. Maymunah Abubakar Audu, Executive Director, Commercial Services, NEMSA amongst other Executive Directors present.
The Honourable Minister also paid a visit to the Electric Motor Vehicle Company (EMVC), where he was received by the Chief Executive Officer, Mustapha Audu. Minister Audu commended him for his efforts in advancing Nigeria’s electric vehicle industry, noting that the company is contributing to industrial growth, innovation, job creation, and sustainable transportation.
