NANS Election: Youth Parliament Speaker Endorses Nwuruku For Senate Presidency

Speaker, Nigerian Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Idris Zakari has endorsed the Deputy Majority Leader of the Parliament, Comrade Alfred Nwuruku For the position of the Senate Presidency of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

The national convention was slated to hold from 22nd – 25th May, 2026 in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a statement, the Youth Parliament Speaker noted that Nwuruku has consistently demonstrated capacity, capability, competence, confidence, and outstanding leadership qualities in service to Nigerian youths and students.

According to Zakari: “Hon. Comrade Olisa Nwaruku Alfred as a former Coordinator NANS Zone B, former this former that, has consistently demonstrated capacity, capability, competence, confidence, and outstanding leadership qualities in service to Nigerian youths and students. His experience, dedication, and passion for students’ welfare make him eminently qualified for this exalted office”.

“In view of this, I humbly call on all Honourable Members to give him maximum support through effective mobilization within your various constituencies”.

“Particular attention should be directed towards engaging and mobilizing SUG Presidents and leaders of higher institutions within your constituencies; Relevant stakeholders in the education and student community and existing networks and contacts within the students’ movement nationwide”.

Zakari further called on NANS members to provide every necessary support possible, including strategic engagement, advocacy, consultations, and resource mobilization where necessary, towards ensuring the success of this collective project.
