… Commission proposes stakeholders’ workshop to address boundary Issues
The management of the National Boundary Commission (NBC) has paid a working visit to the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Comrade Joel Salifu, at his office in Lokoja on Teusday.
The Deputy Governor, who chairs the Kogi State Boundary Committee, received the delegation led by the Director-General of the Commission, Surveyor Adamu Adaji.
Speaking during the visit, the Director-General said the Commission plans to organise a stakeholders’ workshop involving Kogi State and its neighbouring states to address boundary-related issues and improve cooperation. He noted that state and local boundary committees play a key role in sensitising communities and providing data for effective boundary delineation, and called for stronger collaboration with the state.
He commended the Kogi State Government for its sustained commitment to boundary matters and praised the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his Deputy within the past two years.
In his response, Comrade Joel Salifu described the visit as timely, noting that Kogi shares boundaries with about ten states, making boundary management critical to the state. He assured the Commission of the government’s continued partnership and support in resolving boundary issues.
