‘In Two Years, You’ve Achieved a Whole Lot in Kogi State’ – Prince Micheal Ojotule Support Group Hails Ododo’s Inclusive Leadership

By Yahaya Idris, Lokoja

The Prince Micheal Ojotule Support Group has poured encomiums on Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and his Deputy, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, marking their two-year milestone in office with glowing tributes to their transformative leadership.

The group, in a statement issued to newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday, rallied robust support for the Ododo-Oyibo administration, highlighting remarkable strides in key sectors including education, agriculture, security, and human capital development.

Prince Micheal Ojotule, the group’s anchor and an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing the Idah/Ofu/Ibaji/Igalamela Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, led the commendation, describing the duo as beacons of progress amid Kogi’s challenging socio-economic landscape.

According to the statement, Governor Ododo’s administration has demonstrated uncommon inclusivity, ensuring that dividends of democracy reach every nook and cranny of Kogi State.

“In two years, you’ve achieved a whole lot in Kogi State,” the group declared, pointing to deliberate policies that have revitalized the education sector through massive infrastructure upgrades, teacher training programs, and scholarships for indigent students.

These initiatives, they noted, have positioned Kogi as a frontline state in bridging educational gaps, with new classrooms sprouting across rural communities and enrollment rates surging impressively.

The agricultural renaissance under Ododo’s watch also drew special praise from the support group. Farmers in rice-producing belts like Ibaji and Igalamela have benefited from subsidized inputs, modern farming equipment, and expansive irrigation schemes, boosting yields and food security.

“Your administration’s focus on agriculture has not only empowered our farmers but also curbed youth restiveness by creating viable agro-based employment opportunities,” the statement read, crediting these efforts for stabilizing market prices and enhancing Kogi’s contribution to national food baskets.

Security, often a thorn in Kogi’s side due to its border proximity to bandit-prone areas, has witnessed a paradigm shift, the group affirmed.

Governor Ododo’s synergy with security agencies, coupled with community policing initiatives and the deployment of vigilante networks, has drastically reduced incidents of kidnapping, armed robbery, and communal clashes.

“Kogi is now safer for business and living, thanks to your proactive leadership that listens to the people’s cries and acts decisively,” the Ojotule group emphasized, urging residents to sustain the peace for collective prosperity.

Human capital development emerged as another pillar of acclaim, with investments in skills acquisition centers, youth empowerment schemes, and women entrepreneurship programs yielding thousands of beneficiaries.

The administration’s flagship initiatives, such as the Kogi Youths Empowerment Trust Fund, have trained over 10,000 indigenes in vocational trades, from digital marketing to agribusiness, fostering self-reliance and reducing dependence on white-collar jobs.

The Prince Micheal Ojotule Support Group, actively mobilizing for the 2027 polls, positioned their endorsement as a testament to Ododo’s accessibility and responsiveness. “You are the most active and listening leader that has given so much to Kogi,” the statement quoted Ojotule as saying, recalling how the governor’s town hall engagements and prompt intervention in flood-ravaged communities have endeared him to the masses.

This rare blend of energy and empathy, they argued, sets Ododo apart from predecessors, fostering unity across ethnic divides in the Confluence State.

Beyond sectoral gains, the group hailed Ododo’s fiscal prudence, which has attracted federal allocations and private investments into infrastructure like road networks linking Lokoja to remote LGAs.

Health sector reforms, including free maternal care and upgraded primary health centers, have similarly lowered maternal mortality rates, while environmental policies combat erosion in riverine areas.

In aligning with Ododo’s vision, Prince Ojotule’s camp vowed to replicate such inclusivity at the federal level, promising to champion Kogi’s interests in the Green Chamber.

The statement called on Kogites to shun divisive politics and rally behind proven performers, predicting that Ododo’s second lap would deliver even greater feats.

As the 2027 elections loom, this endorsement signals growing political consolidation in Kogi’s Eastern Senatorial District.
