#NewNiger – ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE
The administration of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago and his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, has embarked on the ongoing construction, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of approximately 1,200 km of both federal and state roads, including bridges and drainage systems, under the Urban Renewal Projects to address the infrastructural deficit in Niger state as follows:
* 6-lane Minna Township Roads – 202.40 km
* Dualization of Minna–Bida Road – 82 km
* Dual Carriage Bida Ring Road – 44 km
* 25 LGAs Road Projects – 556 km
* Kontagora Ring Road – 28 km / 8.7 km
* Dualization of Suleja–Minna Road in Niger State – 101 km
* Minna–Kakaki Federal Road – 41 km
* Rijau–Kontagora Federal Road – 90 km
* Agwara–Borgu–Rafia Federal Road – 90 km
* Paiko–Lapai Road – 49 km
* Overhead bridges, underpasses, and pedestrian bridges (Old City Gate Roundabout, Tunga Roundabout, Mobil, Kpakungun, Morris, Bahago Roundabout, Bida)
Many of these roads have already been completed and opened, reducing traveling time and improving the movement of goods and services across the state. Contractors continue to work diligently under the directive of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, who has assured Nigerlites that all ongoing projects will be completed with a strong emphasis on quality, durability, and long-term impact.
This commitment to infrastructure development reflects a clear vision for a modern, connected, and economically vibrant Niger State. The New Niger agenda is not just a promise—it is a work in progress delivering tangible results for the people.
