NIGER STATE CHAPTER OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FORMER ELECTED LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL CHAIRMEN PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON FARMER GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO.
The National Association of former Elected Local Government Council Chairmen of Nigeria, Niger State Chapter has passed a vote of confidence on farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.
The Association passed the vote of confidence when its members, led by its Leader, Amb. Ahmed Musa Ibeto who is also a former Deputy Governor of Niger State, met with the farmer Governor at the Hauwa Wali Multipurpose Hall, Government House, Minna.
He said the vote of Confidence reflect the majority view of the people at the grassroot, based on the upright efforts of the farmer Governor in transforming and developing the State under the New Niger agenda.
Amb. Musa Ibeto explained that the Association comprises past elected local government council Chairmen, irrespective of Political parties.
He said their objectives are to bring together grassroots leaders as one family, to render humanitarian services to mankind at grassroots level and to serve as pressure group for welfare and service to their members among others.
The Leader of the Association appealed to the farmer Governor to do more in the payment of their benefits, consider them in terms of appointments and to also consider the past Vice Chairmen in the payment of allowances.
In his remarks, farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago expressed delight with the creation of the Association, saying it is apt.
The farmer Governor, who decried the lack of long-time development plan for the State, which he said has given rise to indiscriminate buildings and deplorable infrastructure.
He said his administration is working towards having a short, Mid, and long-time plan that would facilitate rapid development of the State, pointing out that all hands must be on deck to achieve it.
The farmer Governor called on the members of the Association to join the food Security initiative of his administration to stay out of poverty.
While acknowledging the services rendered by the members of the Association to the State, the farmer Governor said they deserved to be appreciated.
He thanked the Association for passing a vote of confidence in him, saying it will spur him to do more and that similar meeting should be done more often for the development of the State.
