NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT TO PARTNER RATTAWU IN NATION BUILDING.

Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has disclosed that his administration is ready to partner the Radio, Television, Theatre and Art Workers Union RATTAWU towards nation building.

The farmer Governor stated this when he received the executive council members of the National body of RATTAWU on a courtesy visit at the Government House Minna.

Governor Bago disclosed that the State Government will continue to partner RATTAWU as the Union remains a key factor in making the people understand policies of Government.

He described Niger State Government as a labour friendly and will continue to accord priority to the welfare of its citizens and give reference to its workforce while also appreciating the Union for chosing a Nigerlite to vie as National Vice President for North Central.

The Governor used the forum to re echo his administration’s determination in revolutionizing the agricultural sector saying, Niger state is working in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s food sovereignty by investing massively in agriculture.

The National President, Radio, Television, Theatre and Art Workers Union RATTAWU, Comrade Kabir Garba who applauded Governor Umaru Bago for his developmental strides and his compassion for workers in the State, stated that their visit was to commend him for the ongoing reforms and support for the creative and media sectors in the State as well as explore Partnerships in cultural promotion, capacity building, and professional development for state-owned media workers.

He also informed the Governor that the Union has followed with keen interest, his administration’s forward-thinking policies, particularly in the areas of youth empowerment, education, agricultural transformation, and infrastructural development adding that the initiatives aligned strongly with the union’s values and aspirations.

The Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Niger State Chapter, Comrade Abdulkareem Lafene in his remarks appreciated the Governor for always granting audience to the Union when the need arises adding that, the giant strides he has attained in the State in making sure that the labour Union and workers in the State do not suffer has endeared him to so many Unions across the Country.
