NIGERIA CAN BE GREATER WITH RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE, PEACE, AND HARMONIUS INTER-GROUP RELATIONS AMONG THE CITIZENS
The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 general.election has harped on the imperative of religious tolerance amongst Nigerians to engender peace and sustainable development.
Delivering his goodwill message as the Special Guest of Honour, at the yearly Ramadan Lecture in Owu Kuta, Osun state on Saturday, March 8, 2025 organised by Olowu Kuta and paramount ruler of Owu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Hameed Adekunle Oyelude Makama, CON (Tegbosun III), Prince Adewole Adebayo noted that Nigeria is a great nation that is uncommonly blessed with humongous natural endowments, and that the potential for true greatness of the country requires God-fearing, greed-free, competent and compassionate leaders who will administer the commonwealth of the Nigerian nation for the common good and build a good society for all.
He stated that the Holy month of Ramadan is a special period in the life of the Muslim faith, during which they are required to commune with God, reflect in piety, dwell in true love, and extend compassion to the less-priviledged. He enjoined the Muslim Umah to live the life and abide
by the injuctions of Prophet Mohammed (PBH).
While apprecisting the rich diversity of Nigeria and the notable religious tolerance amongst the people of the South-West in particular, Prince Adewole Adebayo prays for good leaders for the country at all levels, to administer the affairs of the nation, and calls on citizens to imbibe the virtues of patriotism and responsible actions towards national development.m
On the entourage of Prince Adewole Adebayo to the Ramadan Lecture were: the National Publicity Secretary of the SDP, Ambassador Rufus Aiyenigba and National Vice Chairman, South-West, Omoba Silas Alani. The lecture was attended by renowned Islamic scholars, royal fathers from across Owu Kingdom, and eminent sons and daughters of Kuta, among others.
Convener of the annual Ramadan Lecture, HRM Oba Makama distributed several packs of food items and made cash donations to the participants, particularly women and children.
