Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Team Engages at UN Security Council Meeting in New York
New York, USA – Nigeria’s foreign affairs leadership was out in force at the United Nations Security Council, as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, attended a council session where Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, delivered Nigeria’s official statement.
The meeting, held at UN Headquarters in New York, saw Ojukwu speak on behalf of Nigeria on matters before the council. Enikanolaiye was present to support the delegation, underscoring the ministry’s coordinated approach to Nigeria’s multilateral engagements.
Also in attendance was Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ambassador Ayodele Oke, who was seated behind Enikanolaiye during the session.
The appearance comes as Nigeria continues to push its foreign policy priorities at the UN, focusing on peace, security, and Africa’s representation in global decision-making bodies.
Officials described the showing as part of the ministry’s effort to “hit the ground running” on Nigeria’s diplomatic agenda.
