Governor Bala Mohammed while addressing the media on Friday emphasized that the party remains united despite recent leadership misunderstanding that created tensions as a result of report that Damagum was suspended and replaced by Mohammed Ahmed Yayari.

Governor Bala, therefore expressed optimism that PDP is capable of managing its internal problems.

“We discussed these situations extensively with the acting National Chairman, and we agreed to work collaboratively with other party organs, including the Board of Trustees, the Governors’ Forum, and legislative caucuses,” Bala stated.

Senator Bala also talked about rumours of party disloyalty and plans to remove him as the Governors’ Forum Chairman, attributing these claims to misunderstandings and miscommunication.

“We have resolved not to allow any gaps in our relationships moving forward”.

The governor said he regretted any previous disagreements with Damagum.

“There is no faction in the PDP. We are united and committed to resolving all our issues together.”

Earlier, the acting National Chairman Damagum, leading PDP Chairmen from six North East Zone that includes Adamawa, Bauchí, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe States including some stakeholders, highlighted the party’s resilience, describing the PDP as Nigeria’s most dependable political party.

Ambassador Damagum Commended Governor Bala’s contributions to fostering peace and unity in the party, especially in the lead-up to the 2027 elections, and underscored the importance of unity within the party.

The meeting also covered strategies to reinforce the PDP’s structures in the Northeast and nationwide, with both leaders pledging to strengthen the party as it prepares for future elections.

Reacting to the issue of pump price increase, Damagum said those who collected Money, Wrappers, Omo and spaghetti to Vote and bring the government of APC to Power should be held responsible.
