The North West BAT-Movement (BAT-MVT), under the leadership of Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu, has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for re-election in 2027, citing their administration’s significant strides in infrastructure, security, education, and social welfare within the North West geopolitical zone.
Speaking to journalists in Kano yesterday, Hon. Bala Dawakin Kudu, the North West Coordinator of the movement, praised President Tinubu for what he described as “a clear demonstration of leadership with impact”. He noted that within just two years in office, the Tinubu administration had rolled out life-changing development projects that directly benefit millions across the North West states — Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Jigawa, and Zamfara.
“From road construction to security interventions and social welfare programs, Mr. President has shown that the North West is a key partner in Nigeria’s growth story,” Hon. Bala stated.
“We are not just supporting him for politics; we are standing for progress, unity, and the transformation we can see with our own eyes.”
The BAT-Movement highlighted several notable projects and initiatives implemented under the Tinubu administration that have impacted the region, including:
Rehabilitation of the Kano–Katsina Expressway, a major trade route facilitating commerce between Nigeria and Niger Republic.
The Sokoto Agricultural Industrial Park, designed to empower farmers through modern processing facilities and irrigation systems.
Upgrading of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria, with new diagnostic equipment and expanded healthcare facilities.
Establishment of the Renewed Hope Skill Acquisition Centres in Jigawa and Zamfara, aimed at tackling youth unemployment through vocational training.
Renewed Hope Housing Estate in Kano and Kaduna, providing affordable housing units for civil servants and low-income earners.
Security Boost Initiatives, including the deployment of advanced surveillance equipment and community policing networks to combat banditry and insurgency in rural communities.
Hon. Bala Dawakin Kudu also revealed that women and youth groups across the North West have pledged unwavering support for the Tinubu–Shettima ticket, recognizing their administration’s focus on inclusive governance and empowerment.
“Our women’s wing, led by energetic grassroots mobilizers, is working tirelessly to ensure that every market woman, every farmer, and every household feels the renewed hope agenda,” he said.
“The youth are equally motivated — they have seen job creation, digital skills programs, and direct empowerment schemes reach their communities.”
The coordinator commended Mr. Otunba, a key national mobilizer of the BAT-MVT, for his relentless efforts in uniting different political support groups and engaging with the grassroots across Northern Nigeria. According to him, Otunba’s consistent outreach has inspired thousands of youths — both male and female — to join the re-election movement.
In a unanimous declaration, members of the North West BAT-Movement passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, affirming their commitment to sustaining the developmental momentum.
“The North West is firmly behind President Tinubu. His results speak louder than promises. We will deliver overwhelming support in 2027 to ensure Nigeria’s progress continues,” Hon. Bala concluded.
The North West BAT-MVT emphasized that their endorsement transcends partisan politics, describing it as a movement anchored on accountability, performance, and renewed national hope.
