NSCDC Commissions Amoyo Divisional Headquarters to Boost Grassroots Security in Kwara

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Thursday 18th December, 2025 commissioned newly constructed and renovated facilities at the Amoyo Divisional Headquarters in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, as part of efforts to strengthen security operations at the grassroots.
The commissioned projects include the Divisional Sign Post, Quarter Guard, newly built offices, Photo Stand, and the renovated existing office building, all aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and improving the working environment for personnel.
Representing the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development,
Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Bata, described security as a critical foundation for development. He reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to supporting security agencies in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
He commended the NSCDC for its visible presence and proactive approach to security across communities, noting that improved infrastructure would further strengthen the Corps’ capacity to safeguard lives, property, and critical assets.
The Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Hon. Femi Abdularashed Yusuf, praised the leadership of the Divisional Officer, NSCDC Amoyo Division, SC Omoyele Grace Funmilayo, describing her as hardworking, dedicated, and community-focused. He noted that her tireless efforts and effective coordination with community stakeholders have contributed significantly to improved security in the area.
Hon. Yusuf also pledged the local government’s continued support to the Corps, promising to provide a motorcycle and an operational vehicle to enhance patrols and rapid response within the division.
In his remarks, the Kwara State Commandant of NSCDC, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, described the commissioning as part of a deliberate strategy to strengthen the Corps’ presence at the grassroots and provide a conducive working environment for personnel.
He reiterated the Corps’ readiness to combat crime and protect critical national assets across the state, stressing that improved infrastructure directly translates to better service delivery.
Dr. Umar expressed appreciation to the Kwara State Government, the Ifelodun Local Government Council, and host communities for their unwavering support. He also commended officers and men of the Amoyo Division for their dedication and professionalism.
At the event, awards of recognition were presented to the Kwara State Commandant, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, for his visionary leadership and sustained support for infrastructural development across the state, as well as to the Divisional Officer, SC Omoyele Grace Funmilayo, for her tireless service, commitment to duty, and outstanding performance in Amoyo Division.
