ADC Suspends Capt. Joe Agada (Rtd.) Over Alleged Gross Misconduct, Insubordination

The Olamaboro Local Government Executive of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) has upheld the suspension of one of its chieftains in Kogi State, Captain Joe Agada (Rtd.), over alleged gross misconduct and insubordination.

The suspension followed an earlier decision by the Ogugu Ward 3 Executive Council, taken pursuant to Sections 12.3(a) and 12.3(b) of the ADC Constitution, as conveyed in a letter dated December 16, 2025.

The letter was jointly signed by the ADC Chairman in Olamaboro Local Government Area, Chief Peter Oguche, and the Secretary, Hon. Omachoko Faruk Musa.

According to the suspension letter, the action took immediate effect and was necessitated by a number of alleged infractions committed by Captain Agada. These include the alleged formation of a parallel ADC executive in Ogugu Ward 3 and Olamaboro Local Government Area, contrary to Section 5.2(a) of the party’s constitution.

The letter further cited alleged acts of insubordination to the ADC executive, in violation of Section 7.3(b); the alleged conduct of an unauthorised meeting with members of opposition parties in the name of the ADC, contrary to Section 8.1(a); and actions said to have caused disunity within the party, in breach of Section 3.1(c) of the constitution.

Also listed among the allegations is the alleged embezzlement of funds meant for mobilisation during the recent ADC unveiling in Anyigba, said to be contrary to Section 10.1(a) of the party’s constitution.

“The Local Government Executive Council endorses the decision of the Ward 3 Executive Council and assures the state leadership of our commitment to maintaining party discipline and upholding the party’s constitution, as provided under Section 4.1(a),” the letter stated.

Meanwhile, the ADC State Executive Committee has constituted a five-member Disciplinary Committee to investigate the report of the Olamaboro Local Government Executive Committee on the suspension of Captain Joe Agada and make appropriate recommendations.
