NYCN CRISIS: KOGI STATE HIGH COURT ADJOURNS TO JUNE 4
The Kogi State High Court has adjourned till 4th of June the case brought before it by the chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter; Usman Ogohi Samuel seeking to resolve the current NYCN crisis.
This adjournment mirrors the judiciary’s position on the principles of fair hearing.
It could be recalled that the court ordered that one of the defendants in the case be served through substitute means having being evading service, today’s adjournment seeks to give the defendants more time to excercise their constitutional right of reply.
Counsel to the claimant Barr. Stephen Akpala while addressing newsmen echoed his believe in the system while also agreeing with the court’s position, he maintained that the principle of fair hearing and adequate time must be given to the defendants, but expressed confidence in the court to ensure justice is done and manifestly seen to be done in the matter.
