Oba Ibeun to sponsor qualified and interested students of Mopamuro origin in College of Education Technical Mopa
The Paramount ruler of Mopa land and Chairman, Mopamuro Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun has declared his readiness in partnership with his friends to sponsor as many as qualified and interested students of Mopamuro origin seeking admissions into the Kogi State College of Education Technical, Mopa.
He disclosed this at the flag off ceremony of the commencement of academic activities in the new site of the college in Mopa, pointing out that technical education as one of the bedrock of transformation, he would be to give all necessary support and cooperation to succeed in Mopa.
He said the commencement of academic activities in Mopa is a milestone towards relocating the college from Kabba where the State University is now situated, stressing that as part of efforts to make the college grow, arrangement has been concluded to open registers both at the palace and the school for any interested and qualify students to go and register.
The monarch said all interested students have only one month to register for them to be captured in the program, pointing out that lectures will commence on June 1st, 2024.
He used the occasion to congratulate Governor Ododo over his tribunal victory, and appealed for his maximum support for the college in the area of funding to upscale the infrastructures needed for the institution to compete favorably with its counterparts in Nigeria.
He said on assumption of office as the Elulu of Mopa, to drive the developmental agenda of the community, he set up committees, Elder Advisory Council, Policies and Programs Implementation committees, made up of credible personalities that will have the responsibility of working with other Stakeholders to fasttrack development of the community, stressing that the committees and stakeholders are already collaborating with the management of the college to contribute their quota for the overall development of the school, as such clearing of the bushes around the location has been done, accomodations provided for some members of staff, drilling of borehole will be achieve between now and next week.
He noted that the community will continue to collaborate with the school in all ramifications, charging the students to take their studies seriously as that is the only way they can maximize the advantage of bringing the college close to them.
