As Governor Sheriff Oborevwori marks two impactful years in office, tributes and commendations continue to flood in from political leaders, community stakeholders, and grassroots voices. Among the most compelling is that of Hon. Clement Ofovwi, popularly known as General Oloye, a revered ex-agitator, General Adviser to the Urhobo Ex-Agitators (PAP Third Phase), and currently Special Assistant to the Governor on Security.

Speaking during a media chat in Warri, Hon. Clement Ofovwi described Governor Oborevwori as “a Daniel come to judgement”, invoking the biblical allusion to a wise and divinely inspired judge who brings justice and equity to all.

> “In just two years, His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has demonstrated uncommon wisdom, humility, and strength in leadership,” Ofovwi stated. “He is a Daniel in our time – a man who has brought security, peace, and fairness to Delta State. The marginalized now have a voice, and every community feels a sense of belonging.”

Speaking from his experience in the security architecture of the state, Hon. Clement Ofovwi aka General Oloye highlighted the Governor’s unprecedented commitment to grassroots security and peacebuilding. Through enhanced collaboration with local vigilantes, community leaders, and ex-agitators, the state has witnessed a sharp decline in violent clashes and cult-related activities.

> “The governor understands that peace is not enforced by fear, but by trust. He has empowered us to work with our people, to resolve conflicts through dialogue and engagement,” he noted.

Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda has brought an infrastructural awakening to the state, with over 300 kilometers of roads constructed or rehabilitated. Signature projects include the Warri-Effurun flyover expansion, the Koka Junction Interchange in Asaba, and arterial roads across rural and urban communities.

“These projects are not just cement and gravel,” said Ofovwi. “They are a symbol of connectivity, development, and the governor’s vision to open up Delta State for economic prosperity.”

With over 20,000 youths empowered through Delta Cares, and other tailored programs, Governor Oborevwori has opened new frontiers for young people, including former agitators and those in hard-to-reach communities.

> “I am proud to say that many of our boys who once embraced militancy now run registered businesses, farms, and workshops,” General Oloye revealed. “This is the real dividends of democracy.”

Clement Ofovwi aka General Oloye also commended the Oborevwori-led administration for revamping public health and education. With the commissioning of 15 new primary healthcare centres, free maternal care, and strategic teacher recruitment, the state is witnessing a quiet but powerful transformation in the human development sector.
