ODA NEC and ODA North America Hold Bilateral Meeting
The ODA National Executive Council (NEC) and ODA North America (ODA-NA) held a bilateral meeting on Saturday, February 14, 2026, via video link. The meeting, which lasted three and a half hours, was attended by 34 participants from both sides.
Led by ODA President-General, H.E. Amb. Akenson Femi Rotimi, the NEC team included Chief Ibrahim Adoga, Chief Solomon Olawumi, Prince Dayo Akanmode, and Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, among others. ODA-NA was led by its President, Elder Larry Adeyemi.
The meeting discussed various issues, including security in Okunland, the Okun Memo to the National Assembly on the creation of Okun State, and the Okun Security Summit. The NEC also presented an executive summary of its activities since inception on March 9, 2024.
Key resolutions from the meeting include the need for NEC to keep stakeholders informed of its activities and the agreement to periodically hold bilateral interfaces between ODA-NA and ODA-NEC. The meeting emphasized synergies and leveraging comparative advantages to promote the interest of the Okun nation.
The ODA-NEC reaffirmed its commitment to standing with the general consensus of the Okun people on the matter of ongoing agitations for an Okun Governor for Kogi State. ODA-NA promised to provide a full report of the bilateral meeting.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF REPORT
* Meeting commenced @ 8.PM WAT
* Lasted 3 and half hours (ended @ 11.30pm)
* Thirty Four (34) participants attended the meeting from the two ends.
* H.E. Amb. Akenson Femi Rotimi (Lisa Egbe) ODA President-General led the ODA NEC team @ the Meeting.
* Other NEC members in attendance included:

■ Dr David Atte (ODA NEC Technical Consultant) was also present to provide insights on the key issues of restructuring and integration of the Okun nation into the South-West. He also gave very useful insights on the Security framework of the Okun nation.
*Commencemnet of Meeting/Deliberations*
* ODA-NA was led @ the meeting, by its President, Elder Larry Adeyemi.
* Pastor E.J. Ejibunu gave the welcome greetings to participants and also the opening prayer.
* Pastor Ejibunu commiserated with ODA NEC on the passing of the National Secretary, Barr. Femi Amos Oloruntoba, and called for the observance of a minute silent prayer for the repose of his soul.
* Dr. Gloria Ajayi introduced the President of ODA-NA, member sof the Executive Board, and the meeting facilitator.
* Elder Larry Adeyemi gave the introductory remarks of the Bilateral Meeting, which was the first of its kind in the new year 2026
* Hon. Dayo Akanmode on the mandate of the President-General, introduced the ODA NEC, but midway, there was a break in transmission, and Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, Secretary of Elders Council completed the introduction.
* Dr. Tunde Alaofin, as Meeting Facilitator, provided us with the core items of the Bilateral Interface.
* Barrister Tunde Bello gave the organisational and operational guidelines of the ODA-NA.
* ODA-NEC reeled out its past interventions on security in Okunland, particularly during the tenure of the last ODA NEC. They reported that a great deal of plans and efforts are ongoing to make more contributions and support the new NEC.
* President-General presented Executive Summary of the activities of the NEC since inception on March 9, 2024, including the Okun Memo to the National Assembly on Creation of Okun State, the Okun Security Summit, Okun Security Implementation Committee, Okun Security Trust Fund, and other critical steps so far taken by the NEC.
* Hon. Dayo provided the meeting with series of essential engagements and reconciliation steps taken so far by the NEC on the ill-informed boycott action by Kabba Development Union.
* President-General spoke on the position of ODA NEC on the ongoing dichotomy in thought, action and approach of groups within the Okun socio-political milleu, on Okun for Governor agitations.
* ODA NEC called for concerted efforts from all to pursue the true interetabof the Okun nation.
■ Key Resolutions
* ODA-NEC harped on the need for NEC to get their well-briefed of its activities and to provide them with timely information on the schedule programmes by NEC, to enable them make necessary input and ensure participation.
* Meeting agreed to periodically and consistently have the Bilateral Interface between ODA-NA and ODA-NEC.
* Synergies and leveraging of comparative advantages and spares of influences were emphasized.
* ODA-NEC clearly stated that the overaching objective, mission and mandate of the ODA is to promotebthe the interest of the Okun nation, and would therefore stand with the general consensus of the Okun people on the matter of ongoing agitations for an Okun Governor for Kogi State.
