Ofu Stakeholders Mobilise Support for Tinubu’s Re-election, Pass Vote of Confidence
Stakeholders of Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State have reaffirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, pledging to intensify grassroots mobilisation and house-to-house campaigns across the area’s 11 wards.
The stakeholders made the commitment during a strategic meeting held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the residence of the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Comrade Salifu Joel Oyibo.
The meeting brought together party leaders, elders, youth leaders, support groups and other political stakeholders to deliberate on party unity, the Renewed Hope Agenda and strategies for the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
The gathering was hosted by Deputy Governor Oyibo and attended by the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, alongside other prominent political leaders from Ofu Local Government Area.
In his welcome address, Deputy Governor Oyibo commended the stakeholders for their participation and urged them to strengthen unity and cooperation within the party.
He noted that President Tinubu had made significant efforts to address the country’s economic challenges, adding that the President deserved another term to consolidate the achievements of his administration.
The Deputy Governor also emphasised the need for sustained grassroots engagement and effective mobilisation to secure widespread support for the President ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In his remarks, the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, appreciated the people of Ofu for their continued support for President Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Audu highlighted what he described as the achievements of the Tinubu administration, while expressing optimism that the people would continue to benefit from government policies and programmes.
He urged the stakeholders to remain united, committed and actively involved in mobilising support for the President across their respective communities.
The meeting provided an opportunity for participants to assess the progress of the Renewed Hope Agenda, review political engagement at the grassroots level and develop strategies for strengthening the party’s presence ahead of the 2027 elections.
At the end of the deliberations, the stakeholders reportedly passed a vote of confidence in President Tinubu and pledged to mobilise support for his re-election across Ofu Local Government Area.
They also resolved that participants should return to their respective wards and commence house-to-house mobilisation to sensitise residents and galvanise support for the President’s second-term ambition.
The gathering further reaffirmed the participants’ position that President Tinubu should remain in office until 2031, describing continuity as important to consolidating the administration’s policies and programmes.
The meeting concluded with solidarity songs in support of the President and renewed expressions of unity among the participants.
