Ogga Leaders Hail Leke Abejide at ₦10m Disbursement to the 71 Yagba Communities
The Ogga Progressive Union has commended Hon. Leke Abejide, member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, for his sustained interventions in Yagba land, as he disbursed ₦10 million each to four autonomous communities on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Speaking at the event held in Ogga, OPU National President, Mr. Bamidele Olure, said the disbursement to Odo-Ara, Omi, Ogga, and Ogbom was “epoch making and historic,” and described Ogga’s selection as the host community as a “divine choice.”
Olure recalled that Abejide had been a consistent benefactor to Ogga since 2018, citing the provision of digital chairs and tables for Ogga-Ogbom Grammar School, rehabilitation of the Jege-Ogbom-Ogga road, donation of a Highlander SUV to the late Ologga of Ogga, and support to widows, business owners, and a student needing medical assistance.
“Without flattering, he has demonstrated this through his too-numerous-to-mention interventionist programs and projects in Ogga affairs, both at individual and community levels,” Olure said.
He praised the structure of the ongoing disbursement exercise, noting the intentional arrangement of communities, named community presidents, and verified bank details of Community Development Associations.
“Rt. Honorable sir, these people-oriented programs are enough to say, without controversy, that since the advent of democracy in 1999, no representative at whatever level has been able to match your achievements,” he stated.
The OPU president pledged the communities’ loyalty ahead of the 2027 elections, saying residents would stand with Abejide “from top to bottom and from bottom to top.” He also offered prayers for Abejide’s safety, health, and continued service to Yagba land.
The ₦10 million disbursement is part of the Leke Abejide Foundation’s empowerment programme, which aims to deliver ₦50 million to each community in the constituency over four years, released in tranches based on project progress and accountability.
