Ogidi-Omo Movement Expresses Grief Over Sudden Passing of APC Chairman in Ijumu LGA, Hon. Mayowa Solomon Oyewole

The Ogidi-Omo Movement has expressed deep grief over the sudden passing of the All Progressives Congress, APC Chairman in Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon. Mayowa Solomon Oyewole.
In a statement issued on Saturday, 22nd August 2026 and signed by the leadership of the Movement, the group described the death as a monumental loss to Ijumu LGA, the APC family, and the entire Kogi West Senatorial District.
The group said the late Hon. Oyewole was a committed party leader, a grassroots mobilizer and a strong pillar of support to the Ogidi-Omo Movement and its empowerment initiatives across Ijumu communities.
“It is with a heavy heart and rude shock that we received the news of the sudden passing of our brother, leader and friend, Hon. Mayowa Solomon Oyewole, the APC Chairman, Ijumu LGA. His demise is a great loss not only to his family but to the entire progressive family in Ijumu and Kogi State,” the statement read.
“He was a dependable leader who believed in unity, youth development, and service to the people. His dedication to the ideals of the APC and to the growth of Ijumu will be greatly missed.”
The Movement commiserated with the immediate family of the deceased, the APC leadership at the state and local government levels, and the people of Ijumu over the irreparable loss.
They prayed to Almighty God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and to give the family, friends and party members the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
They urged members of the Ogidi-Omo Movement and residents of Ijumu to take solace in the legacies of service, peace and community development left behind by the late chairman.
“As a movement, we will continue to uphold the values he stood for. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” the group concluded.
