Okun Development Initiative Embarks on Journey of Action Following Successful 2nd Summit
The echoes of the 2nd Okun Summit have barely faded, but the call to action is already resounding across Okunland. In the wake of a highly productive gathering, the focus has decisively shifted from discussion to implementation, as the region prepares to realize its vision of a united, prosperous, and secure future.
The summit, which brought together traditional rulers, political leaders, technocrats, culminated in a wealth of innovative solutions and collaborative strategies aimed at fostering community unity for development. Now, the hard work begins.
“The time for talk is over; the time for action has arrived,” stated Deacon Olusuyi Otitoju, ODI’s National Coordinator. “We must now walk the talk, translating the inspiring ideas and strategies shared at the summit into tangible progress for the people of Okunland.”
To ensure the effective implementation of the summit’s recommendations, various committees will be swiftly constituted. These committees, composed of dedicated stakeholders with diverse expertise, will be tasked with leading specific initiatives.
A key element of the implementation strategy is robust stakeholder engagement. The committees will actively seek input and collaboration from all sectors of the community, ensuring a participatory and inclusive approach to development.
“We are committed to building an Okunland that reflects the aspirations of all its people,” added Deacon Otitoju. “This journey will require dedication, collaboration, and a shared commitment to our collective vision. We are confident that, through our combined efforts, we can make the Okunland of our dreams a reality in our lifetime.”
