Okun Development Initiative to Host Summit on Unity and Development, May 30th, 31st in Kabba
The Okun Development Initiative (ODI) is set to organize its second summit, themed “Okun Unity: The Power of One Voice, The Strength of Many Hands,” on May 30th and 31st in Kabba.
The event aims to bring together sons and daughters of Okunland, both at home and in the diaspora, to discuss issues affecting the area and find collective solutions.
According to Professor Tunde Olusunle, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee, the summit is necessary to promote unity and development in Okunland.
He emphasized the importance of having one voice on issues relating to peace and development in the area.
He said the summit will focus on areas of interest that will benefit all communities in Okunland, including:
– Promoting mutual benefits among communities
– Fostering political and development unity
– Preserving cultural and traditional heritage
Professor Olusunle clarified that ODI is not in competition with the Okun Development Association (ODA) but rather plays a complementary role in supporting ODA’s efforts to move the area forward, particularly on the need to foster unity among Okun people .
He urged all stakeholders like the traditional rulers, political leaders, community leaders, business leaders to attend the summit, noting that Governor Ododo Usman has agreed to grace the event in Kabba.
The summit provides an opportunity for Okun people to discuss issues affecting them and contribute to the overall development of the area.
