Okun Governorship is Sacrosanct, but after Ododo’s 8 Years – Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Declares as He Joins APC

The Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom, Chairman of Grosvenor Global Services Limited, and Founder of Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation (PROOF), Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji, has declared that there is no doubt that Okun land desires to produce a Governor of Kogi State, and it remains sacrosanct, but only after the completion of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s 8-year tenure in 2031.
He disclosed this yesterday in Iyara, headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, while speaking at the grand reception to mark his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, he urged Okun people to trust Governor Ododo, assuring them that he is a man who believes in power shift, hence the need to support his re-election bid in 2027.
He promised that he will do everything humanly possible to support Governor Ododo to win his re-election and make Kogi State great.
Asiwaju Olatunji urged the Governor to ignore the news emanating from some quarters of Okun land that they will not support his re-election, pointing out that “No Vacancy in Lugard House.”
He paid glowing tribute to former Governor Yahaya Bello and member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for their support since he joined the party.
He urged the people not to be deceived by people using the name of Rt Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, stressing that he will not be coming to contest the Governorship election in Kogi State because he has a higher assignment at the national level.
He thanked the Governor, his political appointees, and leadership of the party for the support given him since he joined the party, and appealed to Governor Usman Ododo not to let Okun people down, as they have absolute confidence in him.
He urged the people to continue to give their absolute support and loyalty to the current administration in the state led by Governor Ododo.
The Kogi-born philanthropist used the occasion to empower party executives in the local government, pointing out that the empowerment is just a tip of the iceberg.
He promised that as from January next year, he will move from one local government to another for mega empowerment.
Items distributed to beneficiaries from across the 15 wards of Ijumu Local Government include motorcycles, sewing machines, deep freezers, and grinding machines, among others.
APC stalwarts who attended the event include Member representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu and Ajaokuta Federal Constituencies, Arc. Salman Idris, and Hon. Abdulrahaman Sani Egidi, respectively; State APC Chairman, Alh. Abdullahi Bello; Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade; Honourable Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology, Mrs. Helen Aderibigbe Adeniyi; Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo; Executive Chairman, Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Haruna Ibrahim; former Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole; and other top government functionaries.
