The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, has praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as a leader ordained to serve, noting his love for the people and the support he has shown since the start of the administration.

He stated this today 12/12/2025 when he received the delegation of Ofabo community in his office in Lokoja. he recalled his long relationship with the area from his days in the union and commended his Director of Protocol, an indigene of Ofabo, for his dedication and service.

According to the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr Unubi Emmanuel, the Deputy Governor announced that Ofabo will benefit from the next batch of transformers approved by the Governor, urging the community to continue to trust and work with the government.

Comrade Salifu advised the people of the state to focus on development rather than praise, noting that awards can come after the administration completes its work. He stressed that criticism will not stop them from serving the people.

He thanked former Governor Yahaya Bello for picking him from the classroom to the throne, against all odds. And dismissed attacks against the former Governor, saying many of the critics were past beneficiaries of his goodwill.

Earlier, Mr. Friday Okowli said the delegation visited to invite the Deputy Governor to the 2025 Ofabo Day celebration. He thanked the government for giving the community a voice, especially through the appointment of their son as Director of Protocol, the extension of the Education Secretary’s tenure, consideration for councillorship, and efforts to improve electricity.

Similarly, the PRO of the Deputy Governor’s office, Mr. Abah Treasures, appreciated the planned transformer for Ofabo and praised the Deputy Governor’s commitment to the people.
