Okun People Must Unite to Achieve Greater Development, Youth, Women Empowerment — Olatunji

By Samuel Temiloluwa

A renowned community leader and Chairman, Goveronos Group of Companies, Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji, has called on the people of Okunland to unite and work collectively towards achieving greater development, youth empowerment and women empowerment.

Olatunji made the call while speaking at the Okun Dialogue on Unity, Security and Youth Development, organised by the DNC Hon. Olusuyi Otitoju-led Okun Development Initiative (ODI), held in Abuja, where Okun leaders, stakeholders, youth and women representatives gathered to deliberate on issues affecting the people and the future of Okunland.

He stressed that unity was essential for the sustainable development and progress of Okunland, urging leaders and stakeholders to put aside personal interests and differences and focus on issues that would bring tangible benefits to the people.

According to him, Okunland is blessed with talented and resourceful people whose collective efforts can drive meaningful development if the people work together with a common purpose.

The community leader particularly emphasised the need to invest in the youth, describing them as the future of Okunland. He called for increased opportunities in education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, employment and leadership development to enable young people to become productive contributors to society.

Olatunji also advocated greater empowerment for women, noting that women remain critical stakeholders in the development of families, communities and the wider society.

He urged Okun leaders, business owners, professionals, political stakeholders, traditional institutions, youth and women organisations to collaborate in developing initiatives that would address unemployment, insecurity and other challenges confronting the people.

He maintained that sustainable development could only be achieved when Okun people speak with one voice and work together irrespective of political, social or personal differences.

Olatunji commended the organisers of the Okun Dialogue for bringing stakeholders together to discuss issues of common interest, describing the initiative as an important step towards strengthening unity and promoting peace and development across Okunland.

He called on Okun sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora to embrace the spirit of unity, stressing that collective action remained the surest path to securing a better future for the people, particularly the younger generation.
