Olorundare Folorunsho Installed as Chief Alla of Iyah-Gbede

A prominent community leader and Lagos-based businessman, Chief Olorundare Folorunsho Olorunishola, has been installed as the Chief Alla of Iyah-Gbede Community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The traditional title was conferred on him by the paramount ruler of Iyah-Gbede, HRH Oba David Faleke, the Olu of Iyah-Gbede, during a colourful ceremony held at the Folorunsho Olorundare’s country home in Iyah-Gbede.




Speaking with journalists shortly after the installation, Oba Faleke described Chief Olorundare as a distinguished son of the community who had over the years demonstrated commitment and support towards the development of Iyah-Gbede.
The monarch explained that the installation of Chief Olorundare as the Chief Alla was not merely a recognition of his past contributions but also a call to greater responsibility within the community.
According to him, although Chief Olorundare had previously supported the traditional council in various ways, his new position would require him to become more actively involved in the affairs of the council, particularly in matters concerning community development and dispute resolution.
He noted that the traditional institution remained an important custodian of the culture and values of the people, stressing that the installation further underscored the importance attached to the traditions and customs of Iyah-Gbede.
The Olu charged the newly installed Chief Alla to sustain his good character and continue contributing positively to the overall development of the community.
Also speaking, the Onare of Iyah-Gbede Community, Hon. Chief Dare Osawu, commended Chief Olorundare for accepting the responsibility of joining the traditional institution of the community.
He prayed for God’s continued guidance and protection over the new chief and his family, expressing optimism that his experience and contributions would benefit the community.
In his response, the newly installed Chief Alla of Iyah-Gbede, Chief Olorundare Folorunsho Olorunishola, expressed appreciation to the traditional leadership of the community for finding him worthy of the honour.
He pledged to continue contributing his quota towards the development and wellbeing of Iyah-Gbede.
Chief Olorundare said his inclusion in the traditional council would provide him with an opportunity to contribute his voice to issues affecting the community, particularly in the areas of security, development and other matters of collective interest.
He emphasized the need for the community to embrace new ideas and initiatives, noting that the world was rapidly advancing through technology and that communities must adapt to emerging opportunities in order to achieve sustainable development.
He promised to work with other traditional leaders, stakeholders and members of the community towards advancing the interests of Iyah-Gbede.
The ceremony attracted family members, friends and associates of Chief Olorundare from Lagos and Ogun states, as well as prominent indigenes and residents of Kogi State.
The installation was described by attendees as an important addition to the traditional leadership structure of Iyah-Gbede, with expectations that the new Chief Alla would bring his experience, networks and ideas to bear on the development of the community.
