Olumide Faleke Congratulates Hon. Haruna Ibrahim on His Appointment as Caretaker Chairman of Ijumu LGA and charges him to harmonize both human and natural resources to optimize the development of the area
A Chieftain of the governing All Progressives Congress and Abuja-based businessman, Hon. Olumide Faleke has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed Caretaker Chairmen for Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Yomi Haruna Ibrahim, describing the appointment as well deserved.
He disclosed this in a press statement he signed and made available to journalists in Lokoja, stressing that though it is a caretaker arrangement, the responsibilities of the office are clear to provide the needed leadership for the overall development of the local government.
He noted that Ijumu land is blessed with both human and natural resources, hence he is expected to lead the way in harmonizing those resources to optimize the development of the area, stressing that he can achieve much for the people through partnership with the private sector, government agencies, international donors and stakeholders from the local government.
He urged him to make transparency and accountability his watchwords, as he is expected to change the narrative by continually engaging the people to keep them abreast of the situation which will rebuild public confidence in his administration.
Olumide said protection of lives and properties should also be given adequate attention as it is only in a secure environment that development can thrive, pointing out that as someone who has carved a niche for himself in his private business, it is expected that he brings his wealth of experience to bear in the administration of the local government.
He said the local government is endowed with natural resources like marble, limestone etc in commercial quantities which makes it imperative for him to harness the huge potential that will guarantee the industrialization of the area for the overall benefits of the people especially the youths.
He urged him to justify the confidence reposed in him as to whom much is given much is expected, pointing that he should distinguish himself by not making it business as usual rather he should change it to positive narration.
