Oluwemimo Osanipin: Two Years of Transformative Leadership in Nigeria’s Automotive Sector

Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), has completed two years of driving Nigeria’s automotive industry forward.

Appointed by President Bola Tinubu in October 2023, Osanipin has shaped the country’s automotive sector in line with President Tinubu’s vision.

– Local Content Development: Enhancing local components in vehicle production, promoting partnerships with private sector players.
– Electric Vehicle (EV) Integration: Championing EV adoption, establishing accredited conversion centers and charging infrastructure.
– Policy Reforms: Working to pass the National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP) into law, providing fiscal incentives and regulatory frameworks.

– Funding: NADDC seeks partnerships with development banks and alternative financing options.
– Infrastructure: Improved charging stations and gas supply networks are needed.
– Skills Development: Training programs and university collaborations are underway.

Osanipin’s leadership has been praised for its people-oriented approach, emphasizing collaboration and stakeholder engagement. His vision for NADDC promotes local manufacturing, increases employment, and drives economic growth.

As NADDC transforms Nigeria’s automotive landscape, Osanipin’s commitment to innovation and progress remains unwavering.
