Ondo 2024: Akoko South-West APC Leaders Endorse Gov. Aiyedatiwa

BOLU-OLU ESHO, Akure

Ahead of the governorship primary of All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ondo State, leaders of the party in Akoko South-West Local Government Area on Monday declared their support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The incumbent governor is among some members of the party who are currently vying for the governorship ticket of APC to contest the gubernatorial election coming up in the state on November 16 2024.

The leadership of the party held a stakeholders meeting at Oka-Akoko Town Hall on Saturday and resolved to support the governor to be the standard bearer of the party in the forthcoming election.

According to the spokesperson for the APC leaders, Hon Olugbenga Omole, all the leaders declared their “unwavering support for the and urged him to contest and lead the people of Ondo state again beyond 2024.”

Omole disclosed that the meeting was attended by representative of Senator(Prof.) Ajayi Boroffice, the Asiwaju of Akoko, Hon Ade Adeogun, Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan, Hon (Chief) Victor Ategbole, Hon Tolu Babaleye, Hon. Felix Alonge, Chief Sehinde Mise, Hon Johnson Alabi and Hon Felix Alonge.

He also listed other attendees as Hon Stephen Adeyeri, Hon Ope Igbede, Hon Gbenga Eniyandunmo, Hon Dapo Fasesin, Dr Olatunbosun Omoniyi, Mr. Gbenga Atiba, Mr Tony Jayeola, party chairmen across the 15 wards, past and present ward executives.

Moreover, Omole assured the people of the state that Governor Aiyedatiwa would turn around the fortunes of the state through democratic deliverables.

Appealing to members of the APC in the state, Omole said: “I want appeal to members of our party to be wary of the antics of saboteurs and deceitful elements in the party as the state goes into an election this year.”

He, therefore, reeled out the impactful steps taken by the governor within a short time he assumed office as the substantive governor of the state

Omole cited the payment of salaries to civil servants, gratuity to pensioners, construction of roads, sanitizing the state through the Ministry of Environment as well as his interventions in education within the short time.

He also said: ”Party members in Akoko South West profusely appreciated the governor for appointing three of their illustrious sons into various positions so far and like Oliver Twist, they asked for more.

“The party members across the 15 wards of Akoko South West, adjudged the governor as a worthy example of who a leader should be.”
