Over 1,000 Decampees Join APC in Jos East, Endorse Tinubu for Second Term

A jubilant atmosphere filled the MGDs Hall in Angware, headquarters of Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State, as over 1,000 decampees from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party, and other political parties defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The decampees, led by Hon. Bitrus Kaze, a two-term former House of Representatives member representing Jos South/Jos East Constituency, were warmly received by APC stalwarts.
During the event, party faithfuls endorsed President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 General Election.
Hon. Gideon Nyako, Chairman of the APC in Jos East, commended the decampees, particularly Hon. Bitrus Kaze, for their courage and contribution to democracy and nation-building.
He urged party faithfuls to close ranks and work towards future electoral success, highlighting President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda as a positive force in the nation’s political landscape.
Hon. Bitrus Kaze and Hon. Samuel Galadima cited President Tinubu’s strides in human development as the reason for their defection. They pledged to work with the APC leadership to bring about desired change and improve the party’s fortune.
The event featured goodwill messages from notable figures, including:
– Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly
– Ambassador Ibrahim Pada Kasai, former Nigerian Ambassador to Ukraine
– Mr. Agwom Atang, Northern Zone Chairman
– Mrs. Mary Afan, Federal Commissioner representing Plateau State at the National Population Commission
These dignitaries expressed optimism about the party’s unity and progress.
The event concluded with musical displays by various groups, showcasing the festive atmosphere.
