Owe Common Front Affirms Elder Benjamin Olowodola as APC Leader in Kabba, Calls for Peace, Unity Ahead of 2027

By Our Correspondent

The Owe Common Front has reaffirmed Elder Benjamin Olowodola as the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kabba, Kogi State, while calling for peace, unity and understanding among party members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group made its position known at a meeting held at his residence in Kabba yesterday, following deliberations on the political situation in Kogi State and Kogi West. It stressed the need for members of the Owe community and APC stakeholders to close ranks and avoid actions capable of creating division within the party.

The Owe Common Front maintained that its members are loyal to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and, as such, would not want political differences to undermine the unity, peace and collective interests of the people, particularly as the 2027 general elections draw closer.

According to the group, Elder Benjamin Olowodola remains the leader of the Party in Kabba, and members should respect established party structures and leadership while working together to strengthen the party at the grassroots.

The group urged APC members and supporters to demonstrate maturity, tolerance and mutual respect, noting that internal disagreements are normal in politics but should be resolved through dialogue and established party mechanisms.

It emphasized that the primary objective should be the overall development of Kabba, Kogi West and the Owe community, rather than personal interests or political differences.

The Owe Common Front further called on political actors and stakeholders to prioritize peace, assuring that a united political structure would place the community in a stronger position to negotiate, participate effectively and pursue its interests during the 2027 electoral process.

The group also urged its members to remain committed to democratic values and the progress of the APC, while encouraging wider consultations among stakeholders to foster understanding and prevent unnecessary conflict.

It said the 2027 elections should be approached as an opportunity to consolidate political unity, strengthen grassroots participation and promote peaceful coexistence among the people.

The Owe Common Front appealed to all APC leaders, members and supporters in Kabba to put the collective interest above personal ambitions, stressing that “peace and unity remain essential for political stability and meaningful development.”

The group reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote unity, peace and the advancement of the Owe community, while urging all stakeholders to work together in the interest of present and future generations.
