Gunmen Abduct APC Chairman in Kano’s Rogo LGA, Kill Two.

Fear and tension have gripped residents of Beli community in Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State following an alleged attack by gunmen during which the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government, Alhaji Abdullahi Fanka Beli, was reportedly abducted.
The incident, according to sources familiar with the development, occurred between 11:00pm and 11:30pm on Monday night when the suspected armed men reportedly stormed the community and carried out the attack.

Sources said the gunmen, who allegedly operated for some time before leaving the area, took away the APC chairman to an unknown destination.
The attack reportedly resulted in the death of two residents, further heightening fear among members of the community and neighbouring areas.
A source from the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said residents were still uncertain about the whereabouts and condition of the abducted politician as of Tuesday morning.
“We still do not know where they took him or what condition he is in. We are hoping that the security agencies will be able to trace their location and rescue him safely,” the source said.
The reported abduction has generated concern among political associates, residents and community leaders, particularly because of the growing security challenges confronting some communities in parts of Kano State.
Residents were said to have remained indoors following the incident, while the identities and whereabouts of the suspected attackers remained unknown.
Efforts to obtain an official confirmation of the incident from the security agencies were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
However, the development could not be independently verified, and security authorities had yet to officially confirm either the alleged abduction of Alhaji Abdullahi Fanka Beli or the reported killing of the two residents.
The community is now awaiting further information from the security agencies as concern continues to mount over the safety of the abducted APC chairman and other residents.
