PAAU Has Not Increased School Fees, Adopts Uniform Structure for Kogi State Universities

By Our Reporter

The Management of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Kogi State, has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging an increase in school fees payable by students of the institution.

The University clarified that it had not increased its school fees but had instead adopted a uniform fee structure for the three state-owned universities in Kogi State, in line with the approval of the state government.

The clarification was contained in a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs of the University, Uredo Omale, following reports and concerns expressed in the public space over the institution’s fee structure.

According to the management, the adoption of a uniform fee structure is intended to ensure consistency in the fees payable by students across the three state-owned universities.

The University therefore urged members of the public who might have doubts about the fees to verify the information by comparing the approved charges for corresponding departments and academic programmes in the other two state-owned universities.

Management also appealed to students, parents, guardians and other stakeholders to exercise caution when encountering information on social media, stressing the importance of verifying claims through credible and official sources before sharing them.

The statement emphasised the University’s commitment to responsible communication and the promotion of an informed university community.

It further advised students and members of the public to rely on the institution’s official communication channels for accurate and up-to-date information regarding its policies and operations.

The clarification is expected to address concerns among students and parents following the circulation of reports suggesting that the University had increased its school fees.

The University reiterated the need for stakeholders to seek clarification from authorised sources rather than rely on unverified information circulating on social media.
