Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has vowed to reveal the identities of individuals he alleges are conspiring against his political ambition, saying the public will soon learn the details of what he described as a deliberate attempt to undermine his political movement.
Pantami, who is seeking the governorship of Gombe State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said his camp had gathered information suggesting that considerable time and financial resources had been invested in efforts to frustrate their political journey.
The former minister made the remarks in a short video message published on his official Facebook page, in which he expressed confidence that the circumstances surrounding the alleged plot would eventually become clear.
According to him, those who have allegedly worked against his political ambition, including individuals he accused of ridiculing the prayers and goodwill of his supporters, would eventually regret their actions.
“Very soon, we will tell you those who conspired against us and expose the hypocrisy behind what has happened”.
He maintained that the alleged efforts to obstruct his political journey had not weakened the resolve of his supporters, expressing confidence that the truth would emerge in due course.
Pantami also suggested that the situation was not the result of ordinary political disagreements, alleging that substantial resources had been deployed to frustrate his ambition. He said inquiries conducted by his camp had strengthened their belief that deliberate efforts were being made to derail their political plans.
Despite the challenges, the former minister said he remained hopeful and convinced that his political journey was guided by divine providence.
His comments come amid uncertainty surrounding his candidacy in the 2027 Gombe State governorship election, following reports that his name was absent from the list of governorship candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on October 10, 2026.
The reported omission has raised questions about the status of his candidacy and the circumstances surrounding his emergence as the PDP’s governorship aspirant.
However, the precise reasons for the omission and the implications for his eligibility would need to be established through official statements and relevant electoral documents.
Pantami’s latest remarks are likely to intensify political discussions in Gombe State, where the contest for the governorship is expected to attract considerable attention as political parties and aspirants position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former minister, who served in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s predecessor administration under Muhammadu Buhari, is a prominent public figure with experience in government, academia and Islamic scholarship. His political activities have therefore attracted interest among supporters, party members and observers of Gombe State politics.
As the situation develops, attention is expected to focus on whether Pantami and his political associates will publicly identify the individuals they accuse of conspiring against their movement and provide evidence to support their allegations.
For now, the identities of those allegedly involved remain undisclosed. Neither the individuals purportedly accused nor the relevant authorities have been identified in the account as having responded to the allegations.
The unfolding situation leaves key questions about the status of Pantami’s governorship ambition, the circumstances surrounding the reported omission of his name from INEC’s published list, and the political developments that may shape his next steps.
Until further clarification emerges from the relevant authorities and the parties concerned, the allegations remain claims made by Pantami, rather than independently established facts.
