PDP Suspends Bassa LGA, Mozum Ward Chairmen Over Alleged Forgery of Signatures.
The Peoples Democratic Party has suspended the Chairman of Bassa LGA as well as the Ward Chairman of Mozum.
Abubakar Umar, PDP Chairman and Adama Ibrahim, Mozum Ward Chairman, were suspended for forging the signatures of 15 Mozum Ward Executives with the mischievous intention to suspend the State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo.
The suspension letter of the Chairmen was contained in a letter signed by the affected Ward Executives after a duly convene meeting of Mozum Ward, held on 1st April, 2026, at the Primary School Premises, Mozum and presided over by the Ward Vice Chairman of the Ward.
The Mozum Ward Executives said they considered the allegations of forgery, attempt to fabricate and circulate the forged letter as serious, consequently suspended the affected person’s for one month pending when they will appear before a Ward disciplinary committee to answer allegations made against them.

Dear Sir,
NOTICE OF SUSPENSION
At a duly convened meeting of the Ward Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party,
Mozum Ward, Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State, held on the 1st of April, 2026 at the Primary School Premises, Mozum, and presided over by the Vice Chairman of the Ward, the Ward Executive Committee considered serious allegations brought before it concerning certain members of the Party from the Ward.
Following preliminary hearings conducted by the Ward Executive Committee, and after careful deliberation on the matters raised, the Committee resolved as follows:
1. Alhaji Adama Ibrahim — Ward Chairman, Mozum Ward; and
2. Abubakar Umar — Chairman, Bassa Local Government Area (and Member of Mozum Ward), are hereby suspended from the Peoples Democratic Party for an initial period of one (1) month with immediate effect.
The decision to suspend the above-named members arises from allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and publication of false information capable of bringing the party into disrepute and causing disaffection within the party. More particularly, they are alleged to have been involved in fabricating and circulating of a purported letter falsely claiming the suspension of the Kogi State Chairman of the Party, in which the signatures of Ward Executives Members were allegedly forged to give the document an appearance of authenticity.
The alledge conduct constitutes serious misconduct and breaches of the provisions of section 58(1) (a), (b), (d), (h), and (i) of the PDP constitution as amended in 2017 in accordance with the disciplinary procedures of the Party, the matter shall be reported to the Mozum Ward Committee for further action. Within the period of this suspension:
i. The affected members shall appear before the Mozum Ward Disciplinary Committee to answer to the allegations against them.
ii They may appear personally or be represented by their Counsel if they so choose .
iii, Further details regarding the venue, date and time of the hearing shall be communicated to
them by the Disciplinary Committee in due course.
This suspension is without prejudice to the final determination that may be made by the
Disciplinary Committee after hearing the parties and reviewing the evidence placed before it.
The Ward Executive Committee remains committed to upholding discipline, integrity and strict adherence to the Constitution of the Party.
