Politics: Hon. Abdulmaleek Abdulraheem Danga calls for North Central to take back the seat of PDP National Chairman

April 8, 2024

Member representing Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency of Kogi State and key member of the PDP opposition coalition lawmakers in the National Assembly, Hon. Abdulmaleek Abdulraheem Danga, has on Monday, called on the National Executive Council (NEC) of the PDP to come to the rescue of the soul of the party and save it from hatchet men and descent into chaos by ensuring that the North Central zone is given back the seat of PDP national chairmanship for the zone to serve out its rightful tenure in line with the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Abuja; Hon. Danga, a key member of the PDP National Assembly caucus and a political force to reckon with in the country, called on the Judiciary to uphold its integrity and not grant any order extending the already-expiring tenure of the Local Government Chairmen in Rivers State.

Hon. Danga who hails from Kogi State in the North Central region of the country, lamented the current state of the nation and called on the PDP to rise to the occasion as the leading opposition party in the country and for the NEC of the party to do the right thing by asking the current acting national chairman of the party, Ambassador Iliya Damagum to vacate and return the seat back to North Central for the zone to complete its rightful tenure as the zone elected to chair the party till the next national convention of the party.

Hon. Danga noted that failure to allow for the north central region to take its rightful position and completes its tenure at the National Working Committee and NEC is a recipe and invitation to crises which will further deepened the divide in the party.

Hon Danga has admonished the acting national chairman of the PDP to put the interest of the party about any person one to allow for a smooth transition that will allow the party play it’s role as the major and leading opposition party in Nigeria.

Special Assistant on Media to Hon. Abdulmaleek Abdulraheem Danga, Member representing Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency of Kogi State
