President Tinubu Condoles Bauchi Residents Over Death of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the death of renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, as a great loss to Nigeria.
The President made this remark on Saturday during a condolence visit to the family of the late scholar in Bauchi State, where he described Sheikh Dahiru’s passing as a “great national loss,” noting that his life was marked by humility, selfless service, and dedication to humanity.
President Tinubu arrived in Bauchi from Maiduguri in the evening and prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the late cleric, asking that he be granted admission into Jannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for strength and comfort for the family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, as well as for the government and people of Bauchi State to bear the loss.
The President announced that, in recognition of the late scholar’s immense contributions to education and Islamic scholarship, the Federal University of Medical Sciences, Azare, has been named after him.
President Tinubu further urged Nigerians to continue praying for peace and unity across the country, stressing the importance of collective resilience during challenging times.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who received the President and his delegation, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for honoring the family of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi and for standing in solidarity with the people of Bauchi State.
Earlier, Dr. Bashir Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, speaking on behalf of the bereaved family, thanked the President for sending a high-profile delegation to attend the funeral and for personally visiting Bauchi to commiserate with the family.
Members of the presidential delegation included the Governors of Yobe and Plateau States, as well as representatives of the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, among others.
President Tinubu later departed Bauchi for Lagos State to observe the Christmas and New Year holidays.
