President Tinubu Should Appoint Former CDS Christopher Musa as NSA Amidst Rising Insecurity.
By Samuel Temiloluwa – Abuja
In response to the worst security situation in the country, Nigerians are calling on President Bola Tinubu to consider appointing former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, as National Security Adviser (NSA) to tackle Nigeria’s escalating security crisis. According to the suggestions by majority Nigerians described General Christopher Musa as an officer with vast experience in counter-insurgency operations and strategic leadership, and being the immediate past Chief of Defense Staff, Musa is well-suited to overhaul the country’s security architecture.
It is in records that as former CDS, he led major restructuring and modernisation efforts in the military, demonstrating his ability to drive reforms.
His appointment would demonstrate Tinubu’s commitment to professionalising national defence and prioritising security.
The current security situation in Nigeria is dire, with bandits and terrorists waging havoc in several states, including Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Kogi, Kaduna, Borno, Zamfara, Plateau, Benue and Katsina.
Musa’s expertise would be invaluable in addressing these threats and restoring stability.
Reports suggest Musa is being considered for the Defence Minister role, but his appointment as NSA could be a more strategic move, given his experience in national security.
Interestingly, Musa met with President Tinubu yesterday, fueling speculation about his potential role in the new security setup.
