PROF. K.I.T. ENIOLA, VC KOGI STATE UNIVERSITY KABBA, BAGS DEMOCRACY NEWSLINE TERTIARY INSTITUTION EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP AWARD 2026

Abuja – The Vice-Chancellor of Kogi State University, Kabba, Professor K.I.T. Eniola, fNSM, FRA, AVE, has been honoured with the prestigious Tertiary Institution Excellent Leadership Award 2026 by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
The award was presented at Democracy Newsline’s 16th Anniversary and Awards Ceremony held in Abuja. The organisers recognised Prof. Eniola for his outstanding leadership, commitment to academic excellence, and his pivotal role in the rapid establishment and growth of Kogi State University, Kabba.

According to Democracy Newsline, the award celebrates Vice-Chancellors and academic leaders who have demonstrated integrity, innovation, and measurable impact in the management of higher institutions.
Citing Prof. Eniola’s achievements, the organisers noted his strides in infrastructure development, staff capacity building, student welfare, and the rollout of new academic programmes that have positioned KSU Kabba as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing state universities.
In his acceptance remarks, Prof. Eniola dedicated the award to the staff, students, and management of Kogi State University, Kabba, and to the Kogi State Government for its unwavering support.
“This honour is a motivation to do more. At Kogi State University, Kabba, our vision is to build a 21st-century institution that produces graduates who are innovative, employable, and equipped to drive national development,” he stated.
Prof. Eniola, a distinguished scholar and administrator, holds fellowships including fNSM, FRA, and AVE. Since assuming office, he has been credited with providing strategic direction that has stabilized the new university and earned goodwill from stakeholders in the education sector.
Other recipients of award include Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo Minister of Interior, Chief Dr Habibat Tajjani, Accountant General of Kogi state and Senator Sunday Karimi, Hon Salman Idris, member representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, President-General Okpe Development Union worldwide in Delta State, Professor Natufe Igho and Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology Idah etc
