Professor Etukudoh: Applauded For Massive Transformations.
The Team of National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), is an organ of the Federal Ministry of Education which is charged with the responsibility of regulating Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institutions in Nigeria.
In fulfillment of these tasks, the Team was at the permanent site of the Federal College of Medical Science Laboratory and Technology in Jos for resource verification of the College in preparation for the establishment of some programs in the College.
It was a huge success for the institution as the team went round the College to inspect the facilities on ground and also human resources including security personnel and other critical areas of needs.
They also engaged the management in a thorough and intensive discussions for the purposes of getting first hand information and readiness of the College in preparations of establishing those new programs in addition of others that are running by the College.
The Team Leader, Dr. (Mrs) Kubara Jauro, who led other members of the committee and Registrar, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, Dr. Monday Tokdunh were overwhelmed and visibly elated, expressed their profound satisfaction with what they saw on ground,
She spoke to Journalists shortly after the rigorous exercise. According to her, ‘we have gone round the College and we have carefully and meticulously seen the facilities, particularly, the medical laboratory, is so superb and wonderful. With what we have seen they have adequate equipments and more than our minimum requirements and for them to establish the new programs and the existing ones. They have more than enough facilities and I therefore, advice them to continue improving on the programs.
The team leader further expressed their satisfaction with what they saw on ground.
She advised the management not to relent or rest on the oars rather, to continue to do their best in order to uplift the standard of the Institution among the comity of Tertiary Institutions not only in Nigeria but across the Globe.
According to her, we have seen some gigantic ongoing projects, my advice for them is that, they should ensure they complete them on time.
The Provost of the Institution, Professor Sunday Etukudoh said they were able to achieve the monumental developments for the Institution under his leadership because they are working inline and in tandem with the renewed hope agenda of Mr. President.
According to the Provost, the successes recorded so is as a result of the the President appointing scholarly Nigerians who have the hearts and the thoughts of Nigerians in minds as Ministers of Health, when you look in ascendency,
The history of Professor Mohammed Ali Pate, the Hon. Minister of Health, Dr. Tunji Alausa, Hon. Minister of State and the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, Kachallom Daju, you see that the Federal Ministry of Health is blessed because of the innovative and excellent Choice of the personalities, what we are able to transcend from the top is because, we are encouraged and motivated, the needed tools are given to us, that is why we are driving this particular cadre in order to provide human resources for the health sector in Nigeria.
The Provost attributes his successes to the envy of all and reminded the press for his castigation on media by some people with the aim of distracting him from the developmental strides.
Professor Etukudoh said,as an appointee and also having the heart and interest of Nigeria at heart, you don’t get distracted by the nay sayers, but remain focused and resolute and the renew hope for Nigeria will be accomplished.
He enumerated some of the Programs and courses that are being viewed for accreditation.
Medical Laboratory Technician, National Diploma in Public Health, epidemiological studies and disease Control and as well as Environmental Health and all these will produce good results that will help in the local Governments sector through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency which is charged with the responsibility of running the primary health centers, therefore, this particular training is very apt.
As we consider the training this category of staff, it is very sacrosanct as we are assisting in driving the policy of government and the area of need the ministry of health is looking at.
He informs the press on the recent bilateral session with the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health with the Budget office and with this, let me tell you,the ministry is eager and ready to make sure all the facilities and infrastructures that were awarded since 1983 will be completed and there will be enough facilities for these programs and we must work assiduously and meet up with the requirements of National Board for Technical Education so that we can add to knowledge in the Country and we wouldn’t be talking much about the Japa syndrom .
The Provost express his readiness to partner with the Plateau State Government in whatever way to foster development,Plateau state is the first and immediate beneficiary of all that happened in the institution especially employment opportunities, they’re the primary beneficiaries .
We have met with the Governor and the Commissioner of Higher Education and we are very hopeful they will partner with us for for progress.
The atmosphere in the College was that of ecstacy and Calmness as the elated staff were seeing working assiduously and leaving no stone unturned to meet up the criteria.
With this, the College will be waiting eagerly for the positive outcome of the NBTE to go ahead and commence the programs.
