Profile of Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege, Kogi State Auditor General for Local Government

Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege, known more fondly as “Fancy”, is a distinguished chartered accountant from Okehi, Kogi State. Born to Alhaji Siyaka Abadenege and Hajiya Hawau Siyaka on September 3, 1981, in Okaito, he has grown to become a prominent figure in the city of Rocks and Steel.

In 1985, Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege began his modest educational journey at Niomp Staff Nursery and Primary School Itakpe. He was a young and vibrant pupil, vocal and flamboyant from his early days. He obtained his first school leaving certificate in 1991 and proceeded to Okoro Gbede High School Kabba, where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate. In 2008, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and most recently, secured a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Salem University, Lokoja, in 2021.

Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege is happily married to Hajiya Onize Yakubu, with whom he shares a blessed family. Described by close friends as compassionate, humble, calm, God-fearing, and reliable, Yakubu is recognized as a benefactor and confidant.

Professionally, Yakubu has a decade of experience as a result-driven professional accountant. He worked with Kogi Savings & Loans Ltd, Lokoja, between 2012 and 2016, overseeing financial data, ensuring compliance, and providing crucial support during audits. His tenure at Diamond Bank, Obajana Branch, Kogi State, in 2010 involved executing targeted marketing campaigns, organizing promotional events, and monitoring market trends.

Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege is a Certified National Accountant (CNA), and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Economics of Nigeria (ICEN) since 2020. Additionally, he has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN) since 2021.

Beyond his professional achievements, Yakubu is acknowledged as more than just an accountant; he is considered a brilliant professional and a destiny helper by many. His personal attributes, which include uncommon humility, integrity, and sagacity, have positioned him as a symbol of unity and a silent achiever in his community.
Finally, Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege’s life journey is a testament to his commitment to excellence in the field of accounting and his impact as a respected and valued individual in both professional and personal spheres.
