Press Release:

Progressive Amalgamation of Northern Nigeria Congratulates Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau on His Emergence as Chairman of the League of Northern Democrats

The Progressive Amalgamation of Northern Nigeria (PANN) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the former Governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, on his emergence as the substantive Chairman of the newly formed political body, the League of Northern Democrats.

In a statement signed by its Administrative Secretary, Hon. Zakari Adamu (Landlord), and made available to newsmen in Abuja following the National Working Committee meeting, PANN described Mallam Shekarau as a frontline and forthright politician, deeply passionate about the welfare of the downtrodden in society.

The Director General of PANN, Honourable Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu, expressed that the organization was not surprised by the appointment of Mallam Shekarau as the leader of this strategic political movement for the North. He highlighted Shekarau’s strong pedigree and his unwavering dedication to safeguarding the overall interest of the region.

Hon. Bala Dawakin Kudu emphasized the importance of unity and collectivity in ensuring the development of Northern Nigeria. He urged Mallam Shekarau and the League of Northern Democrats to work relentlessly in bringing together the region’s diverse leaders, aiming to enhance Northern progress and prosperity.

“There is a need for concerted efforts in protecting the region’s collective interests,” Hon. Bala noted. He further appealed to Mallam Shekarau to engage with Northern leaders from various organizations, including PANN, to foster collaboration for the advancement of the newly formed political group.

The Director General also noted that the task ahead for the Shekarau-led political body is significant and called on all leaders in the region to offer their full support to the League of Northern Democrats as it embarks on this critical mission to move the North forward.
