PROJECTS TOUR: FARMER GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO MEETS WITH AGWARA PEOPLE AT THE CENTRAL PRIMARY SCHOOL.
While addressing the gathering, Governor Bago outlined their complaints and requests as follows:
1. He conveyed the President’s message that the bridge between Agwara and Yauri in Kebbi State would be constructed, fulfilling a long-held aspiration of President Tunubu since his childhood.
2. He announced that the government would allocate ₦2.5 billion for farming activities in the Agwara and a government building where he as the governor can visit and stay for longer days to monitor farming activities.
3. He declared that the state government would complete the Agwara to Lumma and Borgu road, which, although a federal road to ease transportation of farming produce to urban areas.
4. He also said the construction of 5km already started by his government will be completed with streetlights installed in the area.
5. He pledged to sponsor 100 science students from the area for studies both abroad and within the country.
6. He approved the appointment of two permanent secretaries from Agwara with immediate effect as a fair distribution of government appointments.
7. The State government will soon begin the construction of a Type 2 Primary Health Care Center in Agwara to address the health needs of the people
8. Additional 200 solar lights will be installed in and around Agwara and 10 more boreholes in the community.
9. He announced that the Bi-Water Project would be resuscitated and made operational.
10. He appealed for peaceful coexistence among the people as the government works to address the insecurity challenges affecting the area.
11. He revealed plans to establish a free trade zone between Niger State and neighboring countries such as Benin, Togo, and others in Africa.
