The Provost of the Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah, San. Umar Anataku Shaibu, on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Staff and Students of the College, has expressed profound sadness over the death of the former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
The Provost extends heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Kogi State, particularly the immediate family, friends, associates and numerous beneficiaries of the late former Governor’s service to the State and the nation.
The death of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris is a significant loss to Kogi State. He was a prominent statesman, elder and public servant whose years of service formed an important part of the political and developmental history of the State.
As Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris devoted considerable energy to the administration and development of the State, providing leadership at a critical period in its history. His contributions to public service and his interactions with the people he served remain part of the history and collective memory of Kogi State.
According to the Provost, the passing of the former Governor has created a painful vacuum, particularly among those who knew, worked with and benefited from his leadership and experience.
“Alhaji Ibrahim Idris was an elder statesman whose life was significantly devoted to public service and the advancement of his people. His passing is a painful loss to his family, Kogi State and Nigeria. At this moment of grief, we must remember the years he dedicated to serving humanity and the enduring memories he leaves behind.”
San. Umar Anataku Shaibu further urged the family and the people of Kogi State to take solace in the life of service lived by the deceased, while acknowledging that death is an inevitable passage ordained by Almighty Allah.
He prayed that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give his family, friends, associates and the entire people of Kogi State the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
May Allah grant him eternal rest and comfort his loved ones. Āmīn.
