He explained that although he has served as the substantive Provost for about three months, he had previously held the position in an acting capacity for nearly two years. He noted that within this period, the College has recorded remarkable achievements.

One of the landmark achievements, he said, is the approval granted for the mobilization of the College’s graduates for the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme. He described the development as a historic milestone for the institution, coming nearly four decades after its establishment.

Shaibu further revealed that the College has also secured the accreditation of more than ten academic programmes by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). He said the achievement reflects his administration’s commitment to improving academic quality and strengthening the institution’s reputation.

The Provost assured staff, students, and stakeholders that his administration would continue to implement policies that promote academic excellence, institutional development, and quality training for health professionals.

He reaffirmed his determination to ensure that the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah, remains one of the most sought-after institutions for the training of public and community health professionals in Nigeria.
